Jesus to make his stockmarket debut
Article Abstract:
Spanish football clubs are following the lead of their European brethren and are planning on publicly listing their clubs on the stockmarket, with Atletico Madrid likely to become the first football club to have its stock listed on the Madrid bolsa. The public listing of football clubs has been made possible by an agreement about how shares will be sold to the public struck by the football owner-player council by Spanish financial and securities regulators. The trend towards public listing was buoyed by the $726 million floatation of shares by Manchester United, the largest English, in 1991.
